Busy Town centre GP Practice is looking for an experienced full time receptionist. This is a demanding role which requires good attention to detail, a level head and excellent organisational skills. You would need to have a good telephone manner and be able to deal with difficult situations with a calm and caring nature. Knowledge of SystmOne would be desirable but full training can be given. You will need to know what Confidentiality in the Clinical workplace means. This is a very interesting role; one which each day is never the same, it can be demanding but also rewarding.
Working Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:00-16:30
- Thursday and Friday 10:00 - 18:30
These hours cannot be amended.
Main duties of the job
- General telephonist duties.
- Booking appointments as per AskmyGP appointment system.
- Explaining general procedures, making other appointments and dealing with general queries.
- Giving results over phone/passing urgent results to a doctor.
- Taking and relaying messages by means of computer for District Nurses, Health Visitors, Midwives and other health authorities.
- Dealing appropriately with tasks, notifications and scanned documents to and from doctors, midwives, health visitors and district nurses and other health authorities.
- Giving prescriptions to patients, checking status; printing off list of medications for hospital purposes.
- Printing summaries for visits.
- Changing patients details on System One, photocopying relevant documents, updating system and paper notes.
- New patients registrations checking forms, printing forms etc.
- Issuing repeat prescriptions
- Taking fees from patients, entering in daybook and issuing receipts.
- Ensuring reception area and waiting room are tidy.
- Making tea/coffee for Doctors when required.
- The performance of any other reasonable duties requested by the Doctors, Practice Manager or Reception Team Leader.
