Balfour Beatty is looking for a Document Controller to join our Power T&D team in a roaming capacity, supporting project delivery across England & Wales.
This role will involve frequent weekly travel to project sites where printing and document control activities are required, ensuring compliance with National Grid (NG) requirements and standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate and controlled project documentation both on-site and digitally.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and maintaining printed drawings and document packs on site, including drawing rooms and site offices
- Ensuring documentation aligns with National Grid procedures (e.g. SR135)
- Controlling and maintaining internal and external document registers
- Distributing documentation with correct revision and configuration control
- Supporting project teams with timely document submissions and reporting
- Coordinating printing activities across multiple sites to meet client expectations
- Providing support to wider Document Control teams via cloud-based systems
- Ensuring accurate archiving and digital information management throughout the project lifecycle
Who we're looking for
- Experience in document control within construction, utilities or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of EDMS systems (e.g. BIM360, SharePoint, Aconex, ViewPoint, ACC)
- Experience managing printed project documentation and drawing pack
- Understanding of document control processes and standards (e.g. ISO19650)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage your own schedule and prioritise workloads effectively
- Full UK driving licence – essential due to the travel requirements of the role
