Overview
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to manage the company's end-to-end supply-chain and logistics operations. The role will involve coordinating suppliers, international shipments, freight providers, warehouse operations, inventory and onward distribution. Because a significant proportion of the company's products are sourced from African markets, the successful candidate will need practical knowledge of African food and produce supply chains and experience working with suppliers and logistics operations within African markets. The position requires someone who can combine operational logistics management with strong supplier coordination, inventory control and international shipment planning.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor category management strategies to optimize product flow and reduce costs.
- Coordinate directly with suppliers of African food products and produce
- Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to coordinate shipments, track deliveries, and manage inventory accuracy.
- Lead process improvement initiatives across logistics operations to enhance efficiency, safety, and service quality.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure contractual compliance and performance excellence.
- Supervise shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatches and accurate receipt of goods.
- Utilize ERP systems such as AS400 for order processing, inventory control, and data analysis to inform decision-making.
- Coordinate materials handling activities including forklift operations, picking & packing, and warehouse layout optimization.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years' professional experience in logistics, supply chain & distribution.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, Procurement or a related discipline.
- Practical experience within African food, FMCG, agricultural produce or related distribution sectors.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400, and supply chain software tools.
- Hands-on experience with shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling equipment such as forklifts, and warehouse operations.
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret logistics metrics and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
- Professional qualification or training in logistics or supply chain management.
- Professional training in international freight forwarding or import/export operations.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Pay: £27,929.72-£55,698.33 per year
