Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service delivery.
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations.
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and allergen control, in compliance with regulations.
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative ideas while maintaining consistency.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering professional development and teamwork.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations.
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and guest requirements.
- Maintain a positive work environment that encourages creativity, efficiency, and high morale.
Experience
- Proven experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive background in food production, cooking and food preparation.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations within hospitality settings.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in serving guests directly or managing service operations is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
