Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our children's homes supporting young people with ADHD, EBD, trauma backgrounds and complex behavioural needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting the wellbeing of young people, promoting independence, and delivering personalised care.
Essential requirements
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
Currently enrolled din NVQ Level 3 or actively working towards it
Right to work in UK
Duties
- Support children with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and activities
- Follow Safeguarding procedures and behavioural support plan.
- Support medication administration in accordance with prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Offer emotional support and companionship
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive young people to appointments or social activities as required
- Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when necessary
- Promote independence ,confidence and well being
- Maintain accurate records, logs and incident report
Skills
- Experience supporting children with EBD and behavioural difficulties.
- Knowledge of de escalation skills
- Experience in trauma informed care
- First aid training
- Understanding of Ofsted standards
- Strong organisational skills for medication administration and meal preparation
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
- First aid certification is advantageous
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties
- Childcare experience is a plus for supporting family members or younger clients
