Were looking for an ambitious Industrial Control Systems2nd Engineer to join our team. This is a brand-new role thatoffers long term development and genuine autonomy to become a technical experton Operational Technology (OT) assets and plant control systems (T3000, GEMkVI, MkVIe, ABB 800XA, Siemens S7) at Spalding Power Station.
This role has been created as a key role to support our LeadICS Engineer in the safe, reliable management of the plant. There will be aspecial focus on industrial control systems and OT cyber security, whereyoull be instrumental in helping to ensure these are engineered and maintainedto meet our current operational demands and are flexible to the future businessneeds. Youll have the opportunity to work hands on with critical controlsystems while contributing to long term engineering, maintenance, and cyber securitystrategies. - Become a technical expert on site regarding themanagement of all Operational Technology (OT) assets on site, including plantcontrol systems (T3000, GE MkVI, MkVIe, ABB 800XA, Siemens S7 and otherPLC-based and server-based systems)
- Provide recommendation to the Lead ICS Engineerregarding OT life cycle management, upgrades, obsolescence management, sparesinventory, CAPEX plans, etc.
- Support site lead on designing, implementing andmanaging appropriate cyber security arrangements to comply with regulatory andcompany requirements.
- Follow and maintain cyber security policies,playbooks, risk assessments and procedures in accordance with recent industryguidance and standards.
- Manage Risk through lifecycle analysis ofsystems, understanding threats and vulnerabilities through monitoring,identification, remediation and reporting.
- Plan, execute and manage C&I maintenance andproject scope during plant outages, in both a hands-on and a supervisorycapacity.
- Coordinate and manage engineering project work,development and implementation.
- Coordinate with procurement to develop technicalspecifications and ensure successful tendering.
- Manage contract delivery and close-out to ensurecontractors services are delivered safely, on time, on budget and tospecification.
- Liaise with the Operations and Maintenance &Reliability (M&R) Teams to investigate plant issues and implementsolutions, by providing C&I experience, knowledge and guidance as required.
- Coordinate Management of Change activities,ensuring plant change and modification procedures are applied.
- Utilise InterGens information and actiontracking processes to deliver an ongoing continuous improvement program,Risk/Opportunity Register, plant issue register (BITS), plant anomaly cases,Plant Status Review, insurer recommendations, CAPEX program, etc.
- Carry out internal and cross site Technical RCAinvestigations and engineering riskassessments.
- Support the Lead ICS Engineer with alarmmanagement programs and identifying other opportunities for innovativecontinuous improvement, developing and implementing solutions from both Cyber& Operational perspectives.
- Attend OEM / 3rd Party training courses wherenecessary to enhance knowledge and development within the role.
As our new ICS 2nd Engineer, youreproactive, organised and comfortable working within structured engineering,safety, and cyber security frameworks. You manage competing priorities well,collaborate effectively with operations, engineering, and contractors, and takeownership of seeing actions through to completion. You value gooddocumentation, robust change control, and continuous improvement, and yourekeen to keep developing your technical and cyber security expertise.
Youre experience in managing industrial OT environments, includingDistributed Control Systems, server-based control systems, virtualisedenvironments, DMZs, SCADA, and PLC-based systems - experience with specificplant systems is beneficial but not essential. Youll be used to interpretingand producing PLC, DCS, and SCADA codes and logic, along with experience in OTmanagement programmes in areas like cyber security, obsolescence, alarmmanagement, and functional safety.

Minimum of HNDin C&I or Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline with a high level ofpractical Operational/Maintenance experience/knowledge. (Qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitableindustry experience or other relevant qualifications).
- Youll have worked with OT security solutionsand have experience of operating within regulatory frameworks such as the NISDirective or the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.
- Practical knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443 standardswould be highly beneficial.
- A solid understanding of safety standards isessential, and qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH would be preferred.
