Mechanical Project Manager (HVAC / Air Conditioning & Ventilation)
Brightlingsea, Essex (Office and Site Based)
£45,000–£70,000 per annum DOE + Company Car + Fuel Card + Company Credit Card + Laptop + Phone
AMS Ltd is an established and growing mechanical building services contractor delivering commercial HVAC and mechanical projects across Essex, London and the South East.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to take ownership of air conditioning and ventilation installation projects ranging from approximately £100k–£1m.
This is not a desk-based coordinator role. We are looking for somebody who has previously delivered live HVAC projects and is comfortable managing the full lifecycle from mobilisation through to handover.
Duties
You will be responsible for managing multiple installation projects including:
- Delivery of air conditioning and ventilation projects from pre-start to completion
- Programme management and coordination of labour, subcontractors and materials
- Attending and leading site and client meetings
- Commercial awareness including variations, cost tracking and procurement support
- Managing project quality, commissioning and handover documentation
- Ensuring health and safety compliance across all projects
- Supporting project reporting, forecasting and resource planning
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Typical projects include:
- Commercial air conditioning installations
- Ventilation and ductwork installations
- Mechanical plant replacement projects
- Education, healthcare and commercial sector works
Requirements
- Previous experience managing HVAC installation projects within mechanical building services
- Proven experience delivering projects ranging from £100k–£1m
- Strong understanding of air conditioning and ventilation systems
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and programmes
- Experience managing direct labour and subcontractors
- Commercial awareness and ability to maintain project performance
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- SMSTS preferred
- CSCS card preferred
- Full UK driving licence essential
Location
Our office is based in Brightlingsea, Essex.
Applicants must be able to attend the office when required for meetings, planning and coordination, alongside regular site attendance.
