Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Acting Senior Support Worker to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term contract for 2-3 months.
We are open to a Support Worker ready to step up into a senior position, or an existing Senior looking to gain further leadership experience within a CQC-registered mental health residential rehabilitation service.
You will take the lead on shift, supervising staff, completing keyworker duties and ensuring high standards of care recording, safeguarding, and person-centred support are maintained throughout the home.
Contract type: Fixed-term (maternity cover), full-time

Reports to: Deputy Manager / Registered Manager
Duties
- Leading shifts
- Supervising staff
- Assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Supporting clients with activities in the community
- Supporting clients with meals
- Support with medical appointments as required
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment, promoting independence and dignity for all clients.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance care skills as required.
Required skills and knowledge
- Knowledge and experience of medication administration
- Supervision skills/ willingness to undertake training
- Keyworking skills/ willingness to undertake training
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Level 3 diploma in health and social care.
Desirable
- Fluency in spoken Somali or Bengali
Pay: £13.10 per hour
