We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Carer to join our dedicated care team at our 15 bedroom residential care home. This is a hands-on role combining high-quality personal care with shift leadership and support for junior staff.
As a Senior Carer, you will play a key role in ensuring our service users receive safe, dignified, and person-centred care while maintaining high standards across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care including washing, dressing, mobility support, and toileting
- Administer or support with medication in line with policies and training
- Lead shifts and support the care team on duty
- Act as a point of contact for residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Support, mentor, and guide care assistants
- Monitor and update care plans and daily records
- Identify and report changes in service users’ physical or emotional wellbeing
- Ensure safeguarding procedures, health & safety, and care standards are followed at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care role (senior or experienced carer level)
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A caring, professional, and reliable approach
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
