School Kitchen Staff – Immediate Start

Pay: Daily Rate
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 3:00pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary – Sickness Cover, with opportunity to extend
We are currently seeking Kitchen Staff to join a friendly school kitchen on a temporary basis, starting ASAP. This role is initially to cover sickness, with the potential for the position to be extended depending on the school's requirements.
The successful candidate will support the smooth day-to-day running of the school kitchen and help provide a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff.
Supporting the kitchen team with general food preparation and kitchen duties.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
Washing dishes, cleaning equipment and keeping work areas tidy.
Following food hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
Working effectively as part of the wider school kitchen team.
Supporting with the smooth running of lunchtime service.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working in a kitchen, catering or similar environment is desirable.
Experience working within a school or other education setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
Able to work effectively in a busy environment.
A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team.
