Nursing Direct are currently recruiting for an experienced RMN to support a short-term intervention for approximately 2 weeks.
This role is to support an adult male who is currently receiving a community-based care package from a specialist Learning Disability provider. The purpose of this short term intervention is to review how care is currently being provided, re-establish clear structure and routines, strengthen boundaries, and identify opportunities for improvement.
The successful candidate will work alongside the existing care team, providing guidance and role modelling to support consistent care delivery. You must be comfortable leading and guiding a team, observing staff practice, providing constructive feedback and making recommendations to improve the quality and consistency of care going forward
This role offers guaranteed full-time hours for the full 2-week assessment period. Applicants MUST be available to commit to the entire 2-week period.
We are looking for an experienced RMN with strong Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) knowledge who can act as a positive role model within the day-to-day care environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Role model clear, consistent and appropriate boundaries
- Support staff to confidently implement structure and routines
- Work directly with CJ to establish and maintain structured routines
- Remain calm, confident and contained when faced with challenging or escalated behaviours
- Observe the current care delivery and staff dynamics
- Identify areas where care practice could be strengthened
- Provide constructive feedback regarding staff practice, conduct and skillset
- Make recommendations for improvements to the care approach going forward
- Work collaboratively with the existing care team and wider professionals
- Promote safe, consistent and person-centred care at all times
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 3 months UK nursing experience in a relevant healthcare setting
- Must be available for the full two-week assessment perios (ASAP)
- Valid NMC registration
- Enhanced clear DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the Update Service
- Positive Behaviour Management (PBS) knowledge and practical experience
- Excellent boundary setting and behavioural support skills
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, reliable, and confident in managing challenging or complex situations
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and professionally
