Core by Clare Smyth, a three Michelin-starred restaurant in Notting Hill, is looking for a motivated and passionate Junior Pastry Chef to join our pastry team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their pastry career who is eager to learn, develop strong technical skills, and gain experience in one of the UK’s leading fine dining kitchens. You will work closely with senior members of the pastry team, supporting the preparation and service of world-class desserts while building consistency, speed, and precision.
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting with the preparation and production of pastry items for service
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the pastry section
- Following recipes and presentation standards with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards at all times
- Helping with basic mise en place and prep work
- Learning from senior chefs and actively developing technical pastry skills
- Supporting service to ensure timely and consistent delivery of desserts
Your experience
- Previous fine dining/Michelin experience preferred
- A genuine passion for pastry and a strong willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail and a positive, proactive attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
