About the Role
Sikh Sanjog is looking for a compassionate and motivated Community Development Support Worker to support our work with vulnerable and isolated women.
You will work alongside our Community Development Lead to provide one-to-one support, deliver group activities, and carry out outreach in the community. This role involves visiting women in their homes, building trusting relationships, and supporting them to improve their wellbeing and access services.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to vulnerable women, including home visits
- Support and help deliver women’s wellbeing groups and activities
- Assist with outreach to engage isolated or marginalised women
- Build positive, trusting relationships and encourage participation
- Support women to access services, opportunities, and support networks
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and evaluation
- Assist with organising activities, events, and community programmes
About You
You will be:
- Caring, reliable, and able to build strong relationships
- Confident working independently in community settings
- Committed to equality, empowerment, and safeguarding
You must have:
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals (ideally women)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car (essential)
Desirable:
- Experience working with ethnic minority communities
- Punjabi or other South/East Asian language skills
Safeguarding & PVG
This role involves working with vulnerable adults and requires PVG Scheme membership.
Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010)
Due to the nature of this role, which involves providing direct support to vulnerable women, including within their homes, this post is subject to a Genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. Accordingly, the post holder must be female.
