Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation assistants
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Manage food production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in compliance with health regulations
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative ideas and seasonal specials
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary operations
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
