The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role combining driving, logistics, customer service and operational support.
Driving is only one part of what you'll do. Many of our assignments involve white glove deliveries, specialist transport, porter services, customer-facing projects and supporting operational teams across a wide variety of industries.
No two days are the same, so you'll need to be adaptable, proactive and willing to take on whatever the day requires.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Driving company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Loading, securing and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Planning and packing vehicles correctly to maximise space and protect goods during transport.
- Operating pump trucks and manual handling equipment safely.
- Completing white glove deliveries and specialist logistics services.
- Carrying out porter duties and supporting operational projects.
- Representing Excel Resources professionally at customer premises.
- Completing paperwork and digital job reports accurately.
- Supporting colleagues and assisting wherever required to deliver the best possible service.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in attitude just as much as experience.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Be confident driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Know how to safely and efficiently load, secure and transport goods.
- Be experienced using pump trucks and manual handling equipment.
- Be physically fit and comfortable carrying out porter duties.
- Be an excellent problem solver who enjoys finding practical solutions.
- Be comfortable taking ownership and stepping up to additional responsibilities whenever the business requires it.
- Have strong administration skills and be confident completing paperwork accurately.
- Own a smartphone and be comfortable using mobile apps and digital job management systems.
- Communicate clearly in spoken and written English. Additional languages would be a distinct advantage.
- Be reliable, punctual and committed to delivering consistently high standards.
Experience in handyman work, furniture installation, maintenance, removals, logistics, property services or any skilled trade would be a significant advantage. Any additional qualifications or practical skills that strengthen our team are always welcomed.
