As part of our continued growth, we are seeking experienced Planned Drainage Works Engineers to deliver high-quality, scheduled drainage work across the country.
The Role
This role focuses on completing pre-booked drainage works for our customers. Jobs will be scheduled in advance, either from accepted customer quotations or as follow-on work identified by our emergency response teams.
You will be responsible for a wide range of planned drainage activities, including excavation, repair, relining, and reinstatement of surfaces. The ideal candidate must be proficient in operating excavators up to 1.5 tonnes and capable of reinstating multiple surface types (such as tarmac, block paving, and concrete) to a high standard.
Flexibility is key — some days may require extended working hours, balanced by shorter days elsewhere in the week.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled/planned drainage works to a high standard and in line with company procedures.
- Attend and deliver further works recommended by our emergency/reactive engineers.
- Safely operate excavators up to 1.5t, performing precise dig work when required.
- Reinstate a variety of surface types (e.g., tarmac, slabs, block paving, concrete) following works.
- Overnight Stays
- Maintain accurate documentation, job reports, and photographic records.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers on-site.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with industry standards and company policy.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in drainage or groundworks.
- Competent and certified in using excavators up to 1.5t.
- Strong ability to reinstate multiple surfaces to a high standard.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Flexible to work longer days when needed (balanced by shorter shifts).
- Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently.
