Are you able to engage young people to help them Unlock their Potential?
We have an exciting opportunity for a lecturer to join a small and dedicated team during a period of growth. Applicants will need experience and relevant qualifications to deliver across a range of employability-based programmes. The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher. However, we would consider newly qualified or unqualified teacher with the willingness to train.
You will be working with learners aged 16+ who may feel uncertain about their future direction. Learners within our department require more than just education. They need encouragement, stability, and someone who believes in their potential. An essential requirement for this role is a strong and thorough understanding of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, ensuring that each learner is supported with empathy, consistency, and care.
You will need recent experience of preparing, planning and delivering lessons that engage young people. You will combine high-quality teaching along with strong pastoral support, helping learners re-engage with education, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to move forward into further study, training, or employment.
You will be patient, resilient, and genuinely committed to helping young people thrive and succeed. You will understand that progress looks different for every learner and be confident in supporting those who may have faced barriers to learning.
The College is committed to equality and diversity and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share these commitments.
Starting salary may be dependent on qualifications, skills and experience. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
