Assistant Manager – Amusement Arcade
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Assistant Manager to join our busy amusement arcade team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is looking to develop their career within the amusement and leisure industry.
Working closely with the Arcade Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the arcade, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, team performance, health and safety and overall presentation are maintained.
About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you will support the Arcade Manager with the smooth and efficient operation of the arcade, while taking responsibility for the business in their absence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Arcade Manager with the day-to-day running of the arcade.
- Supervising, motivating and supporting the arcade team.
- Leading by example and ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
- Assisting with staff training, development and performance.
- Opening and closing the arcade and completing all relevant procedures.
- Handling and accounting for significant amounts of cash in line with company procedures.
- Carrying out cash collections and ensuring money is handled, recorded and secured correctly.
- Monitoring arcade machines and reporting faults or maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensuring machines are clean, operational and presented to a high standard.
- Ensuring prize areas and ticket redemption areas are fully stocked, organised and presented correctly.
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock control and ordering.
- Ensuring all company paperwork, records and health & safety checks are completed accurately.
- Supporting the management of rotas, staff attendance and daily staffing requirements.
- Dealing confidently and professionally with customer queries, complaints and difficult situations.
- Ensuring company policies, procedures and legal requirements are followed at all times.
- Assisting with security, responsible cash handling and loss prevention procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for our customers.
- Taking responsibility for the arcade in the Manager’s absence.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties required to support the successful running of the arcade.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a supervisory or management position, ideally within the amusement, leisure, retail or hospitality industry.
- Confident managing and motivating a team.
- Comfortable handling cash and working with financial procedures.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with customers.
- Able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
- Reliable, trustworthy and responsible.
- A strong communicator who can work well as part of a team.
- Confident using computers and electronic systems.
- Proactive and able to use their own initiative.
- Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.
Previous experience within an amusement arcade would be an advantage, but we will also consider candidates with strong management, retail, hospitality or leisure experience who have the right attitude and transferable skills.
