Location: Wapping, London
Schedule: 3 afternoons per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The same hours are offered throughout the year, with opportunities for additional hours during the school holidays.
Hours: 3:00pm–7:00pm, with one evening per week until 9:00pm (can be flexible on this)
Salary: £23–£25 gross per hour
The Family
A warm and welcoming family based in Wapping is looking for an energetic, engaging and reliable after-school nanny to care for their two children:
- 1G: 6 years old
- 1B: 4 years old
The Role
The nanny will be responsible for collecting the children from school in Barbican and supporting them through their after-school routine until their parents return home.
Duties include:
- Collecting the children from school.
- Travelling home by bus (approximately 20 minutes) or on foot.
- Serving and supervising a prepared evening meal.
- Supporting homework, including reading, English and Maths.
- Encouraging positive routines and good manners while setting clear, consistent boundaries.
- Helping the children get ready for bed before their parents return (around 6:45pm–7:00pm).
- Occasional ad-hoc babysitting, to be arranged in advance.
The Ideal Nanny
The family is looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient and highly engaging.
- Comfortable managing the needs and routines of two school-aged children.
- Confident in establishing kind but consistent boundaries.
- Able to confidently support with school homework, particularly reading, English and Maths.
- Reliable, organised and proactive.
- Someone the children can build a fun and trusting relationship with.
Requirements
- Previous experience caring for school-aged children.
- Fluent English with the ability to support homework confidently.
- The right to work in the UK.
- An enhanced DBS and a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Excellent references.
