We’re looking for an experienced Grill Chef to join one of Burton’s busiest independent restaurants.
Working within a high-volume fresh food kitchen, you’ll take ownership of one of the most important sections in the business, consistently delivering perfectly cooked dishes during fast-paced services.
This role is ideal for an experienced chef who enjoys the pressure of busy service while maintaining exceptional standards.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing the grill section throughout service, ensuring every steak, burger and grilled dish is cooked consistently while working closely with the pass and wider kitchen brigade.
Speed, consistency and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities
- Running the grill section during service
- Cooking meats and grilled dishes to specification
- Maintaining consistency across high-volume service
- Managing mise en place and section organisation
- Monitoring stock and minimising waste
- Maintaining exceptional food hygiene standards
- Supporting junior chefs
- Working closely with senior chefs to maintain service flow
- Assisting with kitchen prep and cleaning duties
What We’re Looking For
- Previous Grill Chef, Chef de Partie or Senior Chef experience
- Experience within a busy fresh food restaurant
- Excellent cooking skills and product knowledge
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Passion for quality food
- High standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Food Safety Level 2 (preferred)
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
What We Offer
- £15.00–£16.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Approximately £1.00 per hour additional tips
