About Us
We are a small independent Turkish/Mediterranean fusion restaurant in Brighton, opened in February 2026, with a passion for authentic flavours, seasonal ingredients, and beautifully presented dishes.
Our kitchen is small, hands-on, and highly collaborative. We work with a carefully curated seasonal menu that changes seasonally, allowing the team to focus on quality, consistency, and attention to detail rather than volume alone.
We combine traditional Turkish and Mediterranean cooking techniques with a modern approach, using fresh ingredients and preparing many elements from scratch.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate and ambitious Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely loves cooking, takes pride in their craft, and is eager to develop their skills within a supportive environment and growing independent restaurant.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for running your section efficiently, maintaining excellent food quality, and supporting kitchen team during service.
You will work closely with our Head Chef, contributing to the preparation and presentation of dishes while continuously developing your culinary skills.
This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic about food, enjoys learning new techniques, and wants to be part of a kitchen where quality and creativity are valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain your designated section during prep and service
- Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard
- Ensure excellent presentation and attention to detail
- Follow recipes and kitchen procedures accurately
- Support stock rotation, ordering, and waste control
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and HACCP compliance
- Assist with menu development and daily specials where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy services
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef De Party and ready to step up
- Experience with Turkish, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, or similar fresh-food cuisines is desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for cooking and learning new techniques
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to grow
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Ability to remain calm and organised during busy services
- Someone who is ambitious, motivated, and eager to build a long-term career in hospitality
Hours & Benefits
- Full-time position (Minimum 35 hours of contract)
