Job Overview
We are a family run, Commercial/Domestic drainage business based in Bredbury in Stockport. We are seeking skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineers to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong history in drainage and be proficient in understanding drainage systems in both domestic and commercial environments. Experience in maintainance and repair of all systems drainage including carrying out of CCTV surveys along with various engineering tasks related to drainage systems. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure effective correction solutions and problem solving is in place.
Duties
- Driving, Operating and maintaining Tankers and all drainage vehicles, therefore must hold a class two HGV driving license.
- Carrying out walk around checks both before and after the shift, logging any defects etc.,
- Carrying out maintenance checks on various customer contracts.
- Assessments to evaluate existing drainage conditions and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools for the assembly and installation of drainage components.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during maintenance contracts.
- Collaborate with other engineers and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
- Be able to read and understand Drainage plans.
- Maintain accurate records of works completed, including materials used and time spent on each task.
- Recording photographic evidence of jobs performed and completed.
- Troubleshoot issues related to drainage systems and provide effective solutions.
- Operate commercial vehicles as necessary for transporting equipment and materials to job sites.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various tools and machinery effectively.
- Basic mathematics skills for calculations related to measurements and material quantities.
- Experience in plumbing or carpentry is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with welding techniques is a plus.
- A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting equipment as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
