Be the welcoming face of The Old Coach House Residential Home
We are looking for a caring, organised, outgoing and friendly Receptionist/Admin Assistant to welcome visitors to our home.
This is a part-time role working Thursday to Saturday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, as part of a job-share arrangement with another Receptionist who covers the beginning of the week.
There will be opportunities to provide holiday cover for your colleague, offering additional hours when required. As the organisation continues to grow, there may also be the opportunity for this role to develop into a full-time position in the future.
This role is about much more than answering the telephone and completing paperwork. You'll be the first person that residents, families, visitors, healthcare professionals, and colleagues meet, so your warmth, compassion, and professionalism will make a real difference every day.
We are looking for someone who:
· Naturally makes people feel welcome and at ease.
· Is kind, compassionate, and treats everyone with dignity and respect.
· Takes pride in being organised and paying attention to detail.
· Enjoys helping others and finding solutions.
· Can remain calm and professional when priorities change.
· Has excellent communication skills, both in person and over the telephone.
· Is trustworthy and understands the importance of confidentiality.
· Works well as part of a supportive team but is equally confident working independently.
· Is willing to learn and continuously develop.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Greeting residents, families, visitors, and professionals.
· Managing the reception area and answering telephone enquiries.
· Providing administrative support to the management team.
· Maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
· Handling emails, correspondence, and appointments.
· Providing general administrative support wherever needed.
What matters most to us
Experience in administration or reception is helpful, but we are just as interested in who you are. We can teach systems and processes—we're looking for someone whose values align with ours.
Our ideal colleague is someone who:
Puts people first.
Takes ownership of their work.
Shows honesty and integrity.
Builds positive relationships.
Treats everyone with kindness and respect.
Wants to make a positive difference every day.
If you're someone who enjoys helping others, loves being organised, and wants to work in an environment where kindness and compassion are at the centre of everything we do, we'd love to hear from you.
The Old Coach House is committed to safer recruitment and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. An enhanced DBS check and references will be required for the successful applicant.
