Job Summary
The Nursery Deputy Manager is responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager with overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role requires strong leadership skills and a passion for early childhood education. The Deputy Manager will manage staff, communicate effectively with parents, and drive the nursery's educational programmes to promote the development of children in their care.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of the nursery's operations, including staff management, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement educational programmes that cater to the developmental needs of children.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages children's growth and learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Lead, mentor, and support nursery staff to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Conduct regular assessments of children's development and adapt programmes accordingly.
- Ensure the nursery is a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the nursery's reputation within the community.
Requirements
- Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education settings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A genuine passion for working with children and understanding their needs.
- Ability to create engaging educational activities that promote learning through play.
- Knowledge of current best practices in early childhood education is desirable.
- A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare at Level 3 or above is mandatory.
