Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial data management. Duties
- Assist with accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Input data into accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and Workday with precision
- Manage data entry tasks related to financial transactions, maintaining organised records
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by reconciling accounts and preparing reports
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date records of financial documents and correspondence
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as required
- Contribute to process improvements within the accounts department to enhance efficiency
Experience
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or Workday is highly desirable
- Familiarity with accounts payable procedures and data entry tasks within a financial services environment
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in bookkeeping and accounting processes
- Prior experience in a similar role will be considered an asset but is not essential for entry-level candidates
