Motor Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our busy used car dealership. If you take pride in your workmanship, have excellent attention to detail, and enjoy preparing vehicles to the highest standards, we'd like to hear from you.
This is a fast-paced role where quality comes first. Every vehicle leaving our site must meet our preparation standards and provide complete confidence to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive vehicle inspections.
- Prepare used vehicles to retail-ready standards.
- Complete routine servicing in accordance with manufacturer schedules.
- Inspect and replace worn or defective components where required.
- Check all serviceable items including:
- Brakes
- Tyres
- Suspension
- Steering
- Exhaust systems
- Batteries
- Lights
- Wiper system
- Fluid levels
- Drive belts
- Air conditioning operation
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
- Complete timing belts, clutches, suspension repairs and other mechanical work when required.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
- Carry out road tests where necessary.
- Accurately complete inspection sheets and workshop documentation.
- Work closely with the sales and preparation teams to ensure vehicles are ready on time.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Vehicle Technician (Level 3 NVQ or equivalent preferred).
- Previous experience working in a busy workshop.
- Experience preparing used vehicles would be an advantage.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
