Join Our Award-Winning Team – Cooking Instructor / Support Worker
We’re looking for a passionate, friendly and enthusiastic Cooking Instructor / Support Worker to join our award-winning team at the Butterfly Project.

About the role
You’ll plan, coordinate and deliver a varied programme of practical and engaging cooking sessions for adults with learning disabilities and additional needs.
You’ll support individuals to:
- Prepare simple, healthy and enjoyable meals.
- Develop practical cooking and independent-living skills.
- Learn about nutrition and make healthier choices.
- Understand food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and confidently.
- Plan meals, shop for ingredients and manage a budget.
- Develop confidence, communication and teamwork skills.
The role will be based across our Day Centre and Community Services. As well as delivering cooking sessions, you’ll support individuals to take part in other activities, access the community and work towards their personal goals and ambitions.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for cooking and supporting others.
- Is friendly, patient, positive and encouraging.
- Can plan and lead engaging group and individual sessions.
- Can adapt activities for different abilities and support needs.
- Brings creativity, energy and a flexible, can-do approach.
- Shares our values, ethos and unique approach to support.
- Holds a full UK driving licence, which is essential for this role.
Experience in cooking, catering, teaching, health and social care, or supporting people with learning disabilities would be beneficial, but it is not essential. If you have the right attitude and values, we can provide exceptional training and development opportunities.
