Yorkshire Primary Care Ltd is a specialist residential children’s care provider operating out of the West Yorkshire region with two registered homes operational in Bradford. Currently, YPC consists of an experienced team which consists of individuals with personal and professional experience of supporting children from a range of different backgrounds with varying needs. We believe we understand what an excellent, safe and happy care environment should look like and for this reason we’ve decided that we would create YPC. We feel we can create a provider that is morally driven and delivers exceptional support for children within its care. Yorkshire Primary Care Ltd is a residential provider for children and young people aged 7-17 years who display emotional, and challenging behaviours.
As a Support Worker, you will be on hand to offer the young people support and guidance if required.
The right candidate will need to have a strong personality and be enthusiastic and passionate about providing a high standard of quality care which meets individual young people’s needs.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure the safeguarding of the young people living in the home
- Maintaining a safe living and working environment
- Adhere to all policies and procedures and ensure that these are followed by team members
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with young people and to help increase their self-confidence and self-worth.
- Attending to personal care needs of young people with complex needs who are unable to complete this independently.
- You will be required to cook meals and keep up with the day to day cleaning of the house
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of medication administration and ensuring that procedures are followed accurately and effectively.
Qualifications & Skills
Some recording duties are required, and candidates must therefore display a good grasp of computer literacy skills.
Previous experience in working with children and young people is an essential and preferably a minimal level 3 qualification in children's residential care, as well as a full UK driving licence.
Under the terms of the Children’s Homes Regulations, due to the ages of the young people we look after, all applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Pre-employment Checks
All employees will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and will need to provide a current employer reference, a further reference from a previous employer and a character reference.
