Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tool Hire Test and Run Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, inspecting, and preparing a wide range of power tools and equipment to ensure they meet safety and performance standards before they are rented out to customers. Duties
- Conduct thorough testing and diagnostics on new and used power tools and equipment to verify operational integrity
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on tools to ensure optimal performance
- Run functional tests to identify any defects or safety issues before tools are rented or returned
- Document test results, maintenance activities, and repair procedures accurately in the company’s tracking systems
- Assist in preparing tools for rental by cleaning, calibrating, and ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot technical issues and recommend necessary repairs or replacements
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace that adheres to health and safety regulations
Experience
- Previous experience working within the hire industry or other engineering field is desirable
- Previous experience working with power tools, machinery, or technical equipment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and safety protocols related to tool operation
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain meticulous records of testing procedures
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards within a workshop or industrial environment
- Experience with diagnostic tools or software used for equipment testing is a plus
Licence/Certification:
- Clean driving Licence (preferred)

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
