Electrical Intern - 12 month contract

We currently have an exciting opportunity at our Grimsby LYOCELL Fibre manufacturing site within the Engineering Department for a full-time Electrical Intern to join us on a 12 month contract, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:35.
Reporting to the E&I Lead Engineer, this role is responsible for supporting the maintenance, protection and development of the factory’s electrical systems and infrastructure, while providing support to the shop floor at technician level. A key aspect of this position, will also be to support and develop training and competency activities focused on the E&I group alongside our Training department.
Key responsibilities for this role;
- Ensures that Health / Safety and Environmental matters are appropriately managed throughout area of responsibility to meet external and internal requirements/standards including own work performance and behaviour
- Supports the Electrical services to ensure plant continuity. Providing assistance to engineering day and shift technicians and working alongside the engineers in the team
- Review and update SWP’s and support development of competency profiling for engineering department.
- Facilitation and supporting site shutdown process alongside the area leads and engineers.
- Work with the area engineer to continue development of the sites fixed wire inspections.
- Work alongside the engineering team to support development of DSEAR standards onsite. Including HV and LV strategy for the site and learning UK standards.
- Deliver small projects to deliver against obsolescence and aging plant strategy. Alongside working with engineers on specific Electrical Capital Projects.
- Liaises effectively across other engineering disciplines and production teams.
Candidate requirements;
- Must be working towards a relevant engineering degree
- Understanding of AC/DC motors, Drive systems, Instrumentation and PLC’s
- Health and Safety Awareness
- Problem Solving Skills
- Keeps abreast of advances in technology
