We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Drivers for potential ongoing work based in Rotherham.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for stable, ongoing night trunking work with consistent hours and minimal manual handling.
Pay Rates
- Nights: £18.00 per hour
- Saturday Nights: £19.00 per hour
- Sunday Nights: £20.00 per hour
Job Role
- Trunking work (depot-to-depot deliveries)
- No multi-drop work
- Mostly driving, waiting, and swapping trailers
- Pre-loaded trailers
- Arrive at depot – swap trailers or wait for loading
- Start times range from approximately 20:00 to 01:00
- Many runs are double manned or with a driver’s mate
- Driver responsible for offloading at depot (cages, pallets, or collapsibles)
- Routes include longer-distance runs to Glasgow, Exeter, and Southampton
- Shorter routes typically cover Midlands, North West, and North East
- Most shifts are single drop (maximum of 2 drops)
Responsibilities may also include:
- Opening/closing curtains
- Checking load security
- Ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods
Requirements
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card
- At least 2 years Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 penalty points (no DR10 or IN10 endorsements)
