Location: Ashington, Northumberland
Contract: Permanent
Working hours: 8:00am–5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am–3:00pm Friday
Working arrangement: Office-based with regular visits to customer construction sites
Travel: Midlands, North of England and Scotland; overnight stays are not normally required
Salary: Competitive and to be discussed during the interview process, depending on experience and qualifications

Proposed start date: October 2026, depending on the successful candidate’s availability

THE OPPORTUNITY
Due to continued business growth and an expanding workload, we are looking to appoint a Contracts Supervisor to support the successful delivery of our precast concrete installation contracts.
The successful candidate will act as the main day-to-day contact between Lynx Precast and our customers’ site teams. They will supervise subcontractor installation teams and coordinate site activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.
The Contracts Supervisor will be based at our Ashington office and will regularly visit customer construction sites across the Midlands, North of England and Scotland. The role will work closely with the Contracts Manager and Lynx Precast’s internal Design, Production, Commercial, Logistics and Contracts teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
- Planning and supervising precast concrete installation activities.
- Acting as the main day-to-day contact between Lynx Precast and customers’ site teams.
- Coordinating subcontractor installation teams, customer subcontractors and other site personnel.
- Coordinating labour, deliveries, cranes, lifting operations and site logistics.
- Preparing installation plans and coordinating site activities against the agreed project programme.
- Acting as the Appointed Person for lifting operations.
- Formulating and producing comprehensive lift plans using KranXpert.
- Preparing, reviewing and implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Planning and coordinating lifting operations in accordance with LOLER, PUWER and industry best practice.
- Conducting pre-start and post-start site inspections.
- Delivering site briefings, inductions and toolbox talks.
- Attending pre-start, progress and site coordination meetings.
- Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and relevant contract information.
- Monitoring installation progress and providing regular updates to the Contracts Manager and relevant internal departments.
- Maintaining accurate site records, photographs, reports, timesheets and other project documentation.
- Inspecting completed work and coordinating the resolution of defects, non-conformances and snagging items.
- Identifying and managing site problems, delays and changes in consultation with the Contracts Manager.
- Assisting the Contracts Manager with project programmes, budgets, variations, contractual risks and change-control procedures.
- Reviewing and verifying labour and subcontractor records where required.
- Coordinating with the Design, Production, Commercial, Logistics and Contracts teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Ensuring all activities comply with Lynx Precast’s health and safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- Supporting project handover, completion and close-out activities.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, principal contractors, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Applicants should have:
- Previous supervisory, contracts or project-coordination experience within the precast concrete, structural concrete or construction industry.
- Experience supervising site installation activities and subcontractor teams.
- A valid CPCS Appointed Person qualification, A61/A62 or equivalent.
- A valid CSCS card.
- A current SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- A current First Aid qualification.
- Demonstrable experience planning and managing lifting operations.
- Experience preparing and implementing lift plans.
- Experience preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Strong knowledge of LOLER, PUWER and CDM Regulations.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to liaise professionally with customers, principal contractors and site teams.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project programmes, variations and change control.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, quality and customer service.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to travel regularly to customer construction sites across the Midlands, North of England and Scotland.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
The following would be beneficial but are not essential:
- Previous experience within the precast concrete industry.
- Experience supervising precast concrete installation teams.
- Experience using KranXpert to prepare lift plans.
- Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
- Experience using Field View or other project-management software.
