Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of artisan bread, pastries, and specialised baked goods according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food production processes adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in developing new recipes and product offerings to meet customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace, including equipment and utensils
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality across all products
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets efficiently
- Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary
- Support the training of junior staff or apprentices in baking techniques and safety procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or culinary roles within a bakery or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, including bread making, pastry preparation, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
