Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating large commercial vehicles, specifically flatbed trucks, to transport goods across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks with flatbed configurations, adhering strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and follow optimal routes for long-distance deliveries, ensuring punctuality and efficiency
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds using appropriate restraints and safety equipment
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, routine vehicle checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, delivery logs, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays or issues encountered en route
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to commercial driving, including tachograph regulations and hours of service
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) certification
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed or similar freight transportation
- Strong knowledge of road safety laws and regulations for long-haul trucking
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a focus on timely and secure cargo handling
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as load securing and vehicle inspections
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with UK or regional road networks
- Flexibility to undertake extended trips and overnight stays as required
