Job Summary-
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, leading and developing the bar team, maintaining high operational standards, and driving sales and profitability. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities-
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage supplier relationships.
- Minimise wastage and control costs to maximise profitability.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and motivate bar staff.
- Create staff rotas that meet business needs while managing labour costs.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Customer Experience
- Deliver outstanding customer service and lead by example.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Develop initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Financial Management
- Manage budgets, sales targets, and operating costs.
- Monitor daily sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
- Complete cash handling procedures, banking, and financial reporting accurately.
- Analyse key performance indicators and implement improvement plans where necessary.
Compliance
- Ensure all staff follow responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records relating to licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure a safe working environment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a Bar Manager or senior supervisory role within hospitality.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience managing stock, ordering, and cost control.
- Good understanding of licensing legislation and health & safety requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
