Due to continued growth, Calder Masonry Ltd are recruiting a quarry operative/trainee quarry operative to join our busy quarry block extraction and development team. This is a great opportunity for a positive, self-motivated, and energetic person to be part of a forward-thinking friendly company.
Calder Masonry Ltd are a quarry operator and manufacturer. We are one of the largest producers of dimensional York stone in the UK, supplying Woodkirk Yorkshire Sandstone across the UK and to the Republic of Ireland.
The Role: Your main responsibilities as a quarry operative will be working as part of the quarry block extraction and development team, this is a hands-on role where you will learn new skills and abilities. An experienced quarry operative is preferred with quarry industry experience including the use of rock drills and plant.
As a quarry operative you will be based on site at Britannia Quarries, Morley and must possess the following skills: -
- Safety-Focused
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform rigorous physical activities in all weather conditions
- Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
- Health & Safety awareness and able to follow quarry rules and regulations
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Schedule: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4.30pm, Friday 7am - 3.30pm.
