Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Domiciliary Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, and clients' homes. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients, particularly those with needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care. (not an exhaustive list).
You will be working across Blackburn with Darwen and neighboring communities.
The days are flexible however hours for runs are between 7am and 2pm, and 4pm and 10pm.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in their condition.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure that dietary needs are met.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client health to the appropriate personnel.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and their families through effective communication and behaviour management techniques.
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or home care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care. (not an exhaustive list)
- Proficiency in first aid and basic caregiving skills.
- Ability to drive and transport clients as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages.
- Capability to manage challenging behaviours effectively while providing compassionate support.
