Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of steaks and meat dishes with precision and consistency, following established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food preparation adheres to food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines
- Manage the entire steak cooking process, from seasoning to grilling, broiling, or pan-searing, maintaining optimal temperature and doneness levels
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the steak station, including proper storage of ingredients and tools
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor inventory levels of meats and supplies, notifying management when stock needs replenishing
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of steak cuts, cooking methods, and meat handling best practices
- Hands-on kitchen experience with a focus on grilling, searing, or broiling meats
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests
- Prior restaurant experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
