About the role
Source Supply are recruiting aTeaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class within a welcoming, inclusive, and diverse primary school in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated staff team that is committed to providing high-quality education and ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide effective classroom support, assisting with the delivery of engaging lessons and tailored interventions that meet the individual needs of pupils. The role will involve encouraging children's academic progress while also promoting their confidence, independence, and social and emotional wellbeing in a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities will include preparing learning resources, supporting the assessment of pupil progress, and adapting activities where required to ensure all children can access the curriculum. The postholder will play an important role in helping pupils develop key skills across the Year 2 curriculum, including reading, writing, mathematics, and phonics, while contributing to a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a patient and adaptable approach, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families, alongside a commitment to maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour, will be essential for success in this role.
Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
- Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
- A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
- Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
- Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
- Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
