We are looking for a Financial Accountant EMEA to join our Finance team.
In this role, you'll support accurate and timely financial reporting across seven EMEA entities while playing a key role in statutory reporting and German HGB accounting for our German entity. Working closely with colleagues across Europe, you'll help ensure compliance with local accounting and tax requirements, maintain robust financial controls and contribute to continuous improvements across our finance operations. What you'll do
As part of our EMEA Finance team, you'll contribute to accurate financial reporting while supporting compliance across multiple European entities.
- Prepare monthly management accounts across seven EMEA entities and support the month-end close
- Post journals, accruals and prepayments while maintaining accurate financial records
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure reporting accuracy
- Prepare financial statements for the German entity in accordance with German HGB accounting standards
- Support statutory reporting, including VAT returns and other regulatory submissions across different jurisdictions
- Assist with the preparation of German statutory accounts and support local compliance requirements
- Support interim and year-end audits by preparing documentation and working closely with external auditors
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure audit-ready documentation across all assigned entities
- Act as a key finance contact for the German entity, working closely with local management and external advisers
- Provide cover for standard cost maintenance within the ERP system as required
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency
What you bring
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in an international finance environment, has strong attention to detail and is eager to continue developing their accounting expertise.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience in financial accounting, month-end close and financial reporting
- A good understanding of general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Experience working with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of German HGB accounting standards or an understanding of the key differences between HGB and IFRS/UK GAAP is desirable
- Experience preparing German VAT returns or supporting statutory reporting is advantageous but not essential
- German language skills are preferred, as you'll regularly collaborate with the German management team and local advisers
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and analytical skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills
- Confidence working across different regulatory environments and international teams
