Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 per year (Approx. £17 - £20 per hour) + 1.5 x Overtime for extended hours inc travel
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (38 hours per week) With overtime

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Bespoke Kitchen Fitter to represent Wood & Wire on the road. As the face of the company on-site, you will take ownership of installing our unique, hand-crafted furniture and kitchens in clients' homes across the country. If you have a keen eye for detail, a love for high-end woodworking, and the confidence to manage national installations, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- On-Site Installation: Leading the installation of high-quality plywood kitchens and bespoke furniture at client properties nationwide.
- Management Support & Training: Working and training alongside our Installations Manager to ensure you are fully supported while getting up to speed with our unique products and standards.
- Client & Contractor Liaison: Acting as the primary point of contact on-site, communicating clearly and professionally with our customers and other trades.
- Team Collaboration: Working solo at times, or leading and mentoring a rotating team of junior fitters who will assist you on installations.
- Problem Solving: Adapting to on-site challenges with excellent problem-solving skills to ensure a flawless final finish.
- Multi-Trade Work: Undertaking basic plumbing and electrical work associated with kitchen installations (training can be provided).
- Standards & Safety: Upholding rigorous standards in construction, attention to detail, and finishing while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Administration: Recording and evaluating project times and processes using company software.
- Location: Projects are Nationwide. Ability to regularly work away Mon - Fri.
Qualities & Requirements
- Experience: 5 to 10+ years of experience fitting bespoke kitchens and custom furniture.
- Technical Drawings: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Material Knowledge: Confident working with a variety of materials, specifically birch plywood, veneered boards, laminated panels, and solid timber.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility: A strong willingness to travel nationally and work away from home required regularly (Mon - Fri).
- Clean Driving Licence: A full, clean UK driving licence is essential as you will be travelling to client sites nationwide.
- Attitude: A quick learner who enjoys their work, has a positive attitude, is creative, keen, meticulous, and is excited to be a part of a growing company.
- Tech-Savvy: Basic to good level of computer skills for time recording and project evaluation.
