The Role
You will Lead and motivate a team of train drivers within a specific area to deliver a safe, competent, customer‑focused service while meeting key performance targets and helping modernise the driver function toward a more business‑aligned approach. The successful person will have the opportunity to play a key role in the reshaping of the driver function moving forward
Role responsibilities
The role demands strong people management focus
Excellent communication skills to ensure your team are highly motivated to deliver an excellent service for our business and to our customers
Strong focus on ensuring the highest safety and performance standards are maintained thorough engagement and encouragement of your team
Working as part of a close team of driver managers and also work closely with other managers across the business such as Performance, Safety, Customer Service and HR, and manage the relationships with key stakeholders such as Network Rail
Who we're looking for
Must have driver competency with at least 3-5 years' experience
Hold a management and leadership qualification - minimum level 3 (not essential initially as will be part of DTM development process)
Strong people management skills
Coaching skills
Experience ofiscipline and grievance handling
Operational Rules & Regulations competency
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
