Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing a variety of coffee and food items, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food safety, serving, and food preparation while working in a vibrant setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and light food items according to company standards.
- Ensure all drinks are made accurately and efficiently, maintaining consistency in quality.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and counters, adhering to food safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and offering recommendations.
- Handle cash register operations with accuracy and efficiency, including processing payments and giving change.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety practices relevant to beverage preparation.
- Previous barista experience is essential.
- Strong serving skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic food preparation skills for handling light snacks or accompaniments.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Excellent time management to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
- Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
