Make a Difference Every Day
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Team Leader to join our Supported Living service, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live independent, fulfilling lives within their own homes and local community.
Working alongside an experienced Team Leader, you will play an integral role in delivering outstanding, person-centred support while helping to lead, motivate and develop a committed team of Support Workers. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Deputy Team Leader looking to further their leadership career within a supportive and progressive organisation.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same. You'll work directly alongside the people we support while assisting with the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring high standards of care, documentation and compliance are maintained at all times.
The successful candidate will work full-time on a two-week rolling rota, which includes alternate weekends, sleep-in duties, and participation in the on-call rota (approximately three weekends per year).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, choice and dignity.
- Work alongside the Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of the service.
- Lead by example, inspiring, coaching and supporting the wider team.
- Ensure support is delivered in line with each person's care and support plan.
- Maintain accurate, detailed and up-to-date electronic care plans, risk assessments and daily records.
- Ensure documentation is compliant with statutory requirements, CQC regulations and organisational standards.
- Monitor the quality of support provided and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support with staff supervision, mentoring, induction and development.
- Promote safe working practices and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Participate in sleep-in duties and the on-call rota as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who shares our values and is committed to delivering exceptional support.
You will have:
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities within a supported living or social care setting.
- Previous experience as a Deputy Team Leader, Senior Support Worker or similar leadership role.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- High standards and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence using computers and electronic care planning systems to maintain accurate, compliant records.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, person-centred planning and CQC standards.
- The ability to motivate others, solve problems and lead by example.
- A flexible approach to working shifts, alternate weekends, sleep-ins and the on-call rota.
