Schedule: Monday 11:30-3:30pm and full days Tuesday–Thursday, 8:30-3:30pm
Salary: £100.00-£125.00 per day (can be paid over 12 month salary) Potenial of higher income through school holidays doing camps.
Job type: Part-time, term-time position, long term.

Vara Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Forest School Leader to work consistently within one of our welcoming partner primary schools in Rhyl from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a regular, long-term position where you can develop your own Forest School provision, build meaningful relationships with pupils and become a valued member of the school community.
Unlike short-term supply work, this role offers the stability of working within the same school throughout the academic year.
Working Hours
- Monday: 11:30am–3:10pm
- Tuesday: Full day
- Wednesday: Full day
- Thursday: Full day
- Term-time only
- September 2026 start
Your Responsibilities
As the school’s Forest School Leader, you will:
- Plan and deliver safe, engaging and creative Forest School sessions.
- Provide memorable outdoor learning experiences for primary-aged children.
- Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence and teamwork.
- Adapt activities to support pupils with different needs and abilities.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through outdoor learning.
- Complete appropriate session planning and risk assessments.
- Maintain and organise Forest School equipment and resources.
- Work closely with teachers and school leaders to complement the wider curriculum.
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
About You
We would love to hear from candidates who:
- Hold a recognised Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification.
- Have experience working with primary-aged children.
- Are confident leading outdoor learning sessions throughout the year.
- Have strong behaviour-management and communication skills.
- Understand the importance of safeguarding and risk assessment.
- Can plan creative, inclusive and age-appropriate activities.
- Are dependable, organised and able to work independently.
- Are passionate about helping children thrive outside the traditional classroom.
Relevant experience within education, SEND, outdoor learning, youth work or primary schools would be beneficial.
