Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate weekend Kennel Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care. As a Kennel Hand, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Clean and sanitise kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Monitor the behaviour and health of animals, reporting any concerns to managers
- Interact with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and answer any questions.
- Perform heavy lifting when required, such as moving supplies or assisting with larger animals.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed throughout the day.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing excellent care.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment.
