The Opportunity
House of Girl Boss is looking for an experienced and qualified Beauty Assessor to join our growing education team and support the delivery of our Level 2 & Level 3 regulated Beauty qualifications.
This is initially a flexible, ad-hoc position based on learner numbers, making it ideal for an experienced assessor looking to take on additional work alongside their existing commitments.
We are actively growing this area of the academy, so there is strong potential for the volume of work and hours available to increase as learner enrolments grow.
We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, reliable and passionate about maintaining high standards within regulated beauty education.
The Role
As our Beauty Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing learners throughout their Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications and ensuring they meet the required standards of competence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing learners undertaking Level 2 & Level 3 regulated Beauty qualifications
- Carrying out practical observations and competency-based assessments
- Reviewing and marking learner portfolios, assignments and supporting evidence
- Making accurate and consistent assessment decisions
- Providing learners with clear, constructive and supportive feedback
- Identifying where additional evidence or development is required
- Supporting learners to progress towards completion within appropriate timescales
- Maintaining accurate assessment and learner records
- Ensuring assessment documentation meets awarding organisation requirements
- Working closely with our tutors, IQAs and wider education team
- Participating in standardisation and quality assurance activities where required
- Maintaining high standards of compliance throughout the assessment process
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a recognised Assessor qualification, such as CAVA, TAQA, A1 or equivalent
- Hold relevant Beauty Therapy qualifications
- Have a strong understanding of Level 2 & Level 3 Beauty standards
- Have experience within the beauty industry
- Have a good understanding of assessment methods, evidence requirements and competency-based assessment
- Be confident assessing both practical and theoretical work
- Have excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Be organised, reliable and able to manage their own workload
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be confident providing constructive feedback to learners
Desirable
We would particularly love to hear from applicants who:
- Have previous experience assessing regulated Beauty qualifications
- Have experience working with an awarding organisation
- Have experience working within a regulated training academy or college
- Have experience with internal quality assurance and standardisation processes
- Hold an IQA qualification in addition to their assessor qualification
Working Arrangement
This is a freelance/self-employed position.
Hours will initially be flexible and based on learner numbers,
We are actively expanding our regulated Beauty qualification offering and are looking for an assessor who would like to grow with us as learner numbers increase.
There may be a mixture of remote portfolio/theory assessment and on-site practical assessment at our academy, depending on qualification and assessment requirements.
Pay
£25–£30 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
Any on-site requirements and assessment arrangements will be discussed with the successful candidate.
