The Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner will provide specialist assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation for people with learning disabilities and/or autism whose quality of life is impacted by behaviours of concern.
They will promote evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support approaches, contribute to the development of the PBS pathway, and support service users, families, carers and professionals to achieve improved outcomes through person-centred practice.
Main Duties of the Role
Complete specialist functional assessments and formulations for people with learning disabilities and autism who present with behaviours of concern.
Develop, implement and review Positive Behaviour Support plans in partnership with individuals, families, carers and professionals.
Provide specialist PBS advice, guidance and consultation to colleagues, support providers and partner agencies.
Manage a defined caseload and contribute to holistic assessment, intervention and care planning within the MDT.
Deliver PBS-related training, coaching and support to staff, carers and other stakeholders.
Promote trauma-informed, evidence-based and person-centred approaches in all aspects of practice.
Contribute to service development, clinical governance, quality improvement and audit activities.
Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards.
