Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced senior financial accountant to join our team. Who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and preparing financial reports. This role involves maintaining general ledger accounts, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and collaborating with external auditors.
Responsibilities:
- General Accounting. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. And ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.
- Month-End and Year-End Closings, including prepaid, accrual, depreciation run, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis. And to ensure all accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are resolved before closing.
- Financial Reporting by providing management with insights into the financial performance of the company.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and group reporting requirements.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and intercompany balances.
- Budgeting and Forecasting. Support the preparation of budgets, in addition to the preparation of the monthly cash flow forecast.
- Tax Compliance. Prepare and assist with the preparation of all direct and indirect tax filings and returns. Collaborate with external tax advisors and ensure timely tax payments.
- Ensure compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, and other applicable payroll-related accounting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
- Audit Support. Prepare audit schedules and provide documentation to support financial audits and coordinate with auditors to resolve queries and discrepancies during the audit process.
- HR and Administrative duties. Including payroll processing and collaboration with other departments to support business needs.
- Internal Controls and Compliance. Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must have a degree in accounting / finance or has a Professional Qualification in accounting (e.g. ACCA, ACA).
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, IFRS, VAT, and UK tax requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with multi-company or group accounting is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience:
- 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a UK company or multinational environment.
Pay: £48,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
