Casual Contract | Term-Time Only | From September 2026
Closing date: Monday 10th August 2026
Drive. Support. Help pupils arrive safely every day.
Wellington School is looking to recruit additional Casual Minibus Drivers to join our friendly Transport team as our school transport network continues to grow.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in the daily life of the School, ensuring pupils travel safely and comfortably to and from Wellington each day. Working closely with the Transport Manager and fellow drivers, you will provide a reliable, professional and welcoming service for pupils and their families, while helping to maintain our fleet of minibuses to the highest standards.
Alongside scheduled morning and afternoon routes during term time, there may also be opportunities to support daytime school trips and sports fixtures, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, values teamwork and takes pride in delivering an excellent service.

- Support the safe operation of the School's transport service by following School policies, transport procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Drive for school trips, educational visits and sports fixtures when required.
- Undertake training, including First Aid and annual driving competency assessments.
You'll bring:
- A full driving licence, ideally including Category D1 (training may be available for the right candidate).
- A calm, reliable and professional approach, with excellent judgement and a strong focus on safety.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively within a supportive team.
- The ability to remain calm in changing or challenging situations, including adverse weather conditions.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with young people and a commitment to safeguarding their welfare.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to complete records accurately.
